Safe, affordable housing and mental wellbeing are intrinsically connected. In order to be well, people need a safe place to call home.

The Mental Health Commission has developed this strategy: A Safe Place – A Western Australian strategy to provide safe and stable accommodation, and support to people experiencing mental health, alcohol and other drug issues 2020-2025 with input from a range of stakeholders, to outline the strategic direction of improving accommodation and support services for people with mental health and alcohol and other drug issues.

Vision of Strategy

The vision of this Strategy is that all Western Australians with mental health and AOD issues will have timely access to a range of appropriate accommodation and support options to meet their personal and cultural needs.
